The X-Men #47 (1968)

X-Men #47

This was the other “old” comic I had in my collection. I wasn’t really an X-Men fan until Giant-Size X-Men #1 came out, but this action-packed cover intrigued me, so it ended up part of the swap. Following the break-up of the (original) X-Men, Bobby Drake (Iceman) and Hank McCoy (the Beast) stumble upon an evil hypnotist who is really the Warlock. This issue also had a nice backstory with Iceman explaining his powers. This issue’s writers are Arnold Drake and Gary Freidrich with artists Don Heck and John Tartaglione.
