My first introduction to the pulp hero was the movie, Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze .  While not as good as Batman, the Movie (or the TV series), it was still fun for a 10-yr-old boy.  (“The Green Death” was so cool.)  So I was excited when the comic magazine came out, featuring Ron Ely on the cover.  I had to get it. The magazine had a brand new Doc Savage story and an interview with the movie’s director with photo stills.
