Speaking of strange things in your head, this anniversary edition truly was incredible. Doc Samson fits the Hulk with an encepho-helmet giving Bruce Banner control, shrinks him to miniature size and then surgically implants Hulk into the damaged brain of Colonel Talbot (ala Fantastic Voyage) to make medical repairs. Of course, the Hulk must battle his way to a cure, taking on phantom manifestations of his old enemies including the Leader, Sandman, MODOK, the Harpy and others, finally defeating a monsterous creature embedded in Talbot’s brain. Unfortunately, Hulk loses his helmet in the fight and begins to grow. All that Doc Samson can do is shrink the Hulk even more, sending him into the mysterious Microcosm. That’s what I wanted in a comic as a kid, random violence and science!
