When I was a kid, I spent a lot of my time at the Corvallis Public Library, looking through three big comics archives. After I had finished The Great Comic Book Heroes and the Celebrated Cases of Dick Tracy, I started reading this collection of Little Orphan Annie strips from the 30’s and 40’s. I didn’t think I would, but I loved the book. Even without the superhero action of the other books, the stories of Annie and her friends seemed exciting and real, almost frightening. I purchased a used copy on-line a few years ago, and I still enjoy the stories and characters.
