This issue features a virtually unstoppable villain, the Super-Adaptoid. This robot, powered by part of the Cosmic Cube, can absorb the powers an any entity it encounters. The Super-Adaptoid is beating up the Avengers using their own powers against them, when Captain Mar-Vell shows up. The Avengers try to warn him off, but it’s too late, the Super-Adaptoid absorbs his cosmic powers. But Captain Mar-Vell not only has super-powers, he has “cosmic awareness” which overwhelms the robot. In the end, Mar-Vell not only defeats the Super-Adaptoid, he removes a problem he and Rick Jones have had since issue #17. No more vacations in the Negative Zone time-share.
