Jack Kirby was always “out there.” Whether working on the Fantastic Four or Fourth World, you never quite knew where he was going to go. But Spirit World magazine is really “out there.” Of course, the topic of the paranormal wasn’t that strange for comics, especially for Kirby. And Spirit World starts in common fashion with an expert introducing the events to follow …

I don’t think this is Kirby’s best work, but it may be his most surprising. And it certainly keeps your attention.
