Adventure Comics #441 (1975)

Various writers and artists

OK.  I’ll admit it, both stories in this comic are pretty lame.  You know you are a true Aquaman fan if you can say, “Of course, Aquaman can defeat an underwater pirate by using a giant oyster.”  Even stranger, the story was originally written and penciled by Jim Aparo, but the script was changed later while the artwork was kept the same.  (Hey, Aparo’s artwork is good.) The second story, starring the Star Spangled Kid and Stripsey, is even worse.  It featured talking animals, but no talking oysters.  It was written by Joe Samachson with artwork by Ernie Chan.   Luckily, this issue didn’t kill the Aquaman series, as Adventure Comics #442 is pretty good.
